From the Editor

With this issue, we finish our first "year" of publication. It took us a little longer than a year to get four issues to you, but the systems are working more smoothly, the submission rate is up, and we hope for a more efficient Volume 2.

This is a good time to thank those who have made us a success this year. We have close to 2,000 subscribers now, and we are accessed via the Web approximately 3,000 times a month. If you want your work to be read, this is an effective place to publish.

In addition to our Editorial Board, which does most of the reviewing of submitted manuscripts, the following people also reviewed manuscripts over the last publication year. They have our deepest gratitude:

Irene Clark, University of Southern California
Nancy Cloud, Hofstra University
Peter Master, California State University, Fresno
Francis X. Moore III, Longwood College, Virginia
David Tillyer, CUNY, New York

We are pleased to announce that our upcoming issue devoted to CALL will be edited by Larry Selinker of Birkbeck College, University of London. Professor Selinker's work in second language acquisition is well known, and his recent interests include the role of technology in language learning. If you have a manuscript related to language learning and CALL, submit it through the normal channels (see below), but indicate that it is for the CALL issue, to be published later this year.

Again, thank you for your loyalty and patience. Year Two promises to be bigger and better.

Best wishes,
