We are pleased to announce the publication of issue 8.1 of TESL-EJ. Articles and features for this issue are available at one of the following sites:

We have very exciting news. We have been selected as one of a few electronic journals for a project called LOCKSS (“Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe”). Our inclusion in this project means that the U.S. Library of Congress (as will participating libraries) will archive all of our issues, to ensure that TESL-EJ will survive all of us, and be available for scholars for years to come. We were chosen because of our strong international participation and high interest level. We are proud of both of these facts, and will continue to work hard to ensure they characterize the journal.You can read an article about the LOCKSS program in D-Lib Magazine, June 1, 2001: <http://www.dlib.org/dlib/june01/reich/06reich.html>.
And, that high interest level certainly is shown in this issue, in our main articles and other features. “Habits of Household Lingualism,” by Philip M. Adamek looks at bilingualism and language identity. and ” Teaching Second Language Acquisition Courses: Views from New Faculty” by Greta J. Gorsuch and David Beglar, describes a “faculty-initiated self reflection and development program done by two new U.S.- and Japan-based graduate faculty teaching SLA for the first time.” We think you’ll find both of them excellent articles that will generate a lot of thought and discussion.
Of course, we have the usual complement of reviews and columns, including an “On the Internet” column by Renata Suzuki on diaries as introspective tools, and the Forum, by Karen Stanley, presenting a discussion on teamwork and assessment.
We have also added a large number of new reviewers to our Board of Reviewers. We would like to acknowledge the following new members:
