It has been another busy year at TESL-EJ. As always, we are happy to present another excellent issue. We would like to thank all who contribute, from reviewers to contributors, editors to readers, this year and in years past.
We would like to welcome Sarah Huffman as our new Co-Editor for Media Reviews. Sarah is in Applied Linguistics and Technology at Iowa State University.
We are also happy to announce the upcoming publication of a new book, edited and published by TESL-EJ Publications. An Introduction to Second Language Research Methods: Design and Data by Dale T. Griffee will be released in mid-January. Look for an announcement later in the month. Also, if you have a book idea, please check the website for more information on sending us a prospectus.
We also are soliciting proposals for future special issues of the journal.
On a less happy note, we are saddened to report the death of Russell Cummings, one of our copy-editors, who passed away Friday, December 30. Even though he was new to our team, Russ was an enthusiastic participant who brought an exacting eye and level of professionalism we greatly appreciated. On a more personal note, he was also a warm and wonderful human being who was generous with his time and friendship. His large circle of friends will miss him.
As you begin 2012, please think of us when deciding how you will contribute to the field, and especially to other teachers worldwide who rely on us for up-to-date information in the area of teaching English. We need more editors and reviewers. Send your CV to Maggie Sokolik at the email below if you can contribute in any way. Potential manuscript reviewers should contact our Submissions Editor, Greta Vollmer.
Finally, as many of you know, we temporarily suspended submissions because we are overwhelmed with new manuscripts. We will be resuming the review of proposals in the next few days. Thank you for your patience.
Best wishes for a very healthy and happy 2012. We appreciate your support through the years.
Maggie Sokolik, Editor
Thomas Robb, Co-Editor
